wow... talk about someone getting geeked!! ROFL

OK, slow down a second and let me think... Yes, I'm serious. I can do a tablerunner in Green and Purple (it's a vineyard thing), or if that doesn't quite work, then I'll be more than happy to do a scarf in the teal-y green wool. Twill weave will be great (I'm always up for a challenge!) and no clue which shuttle I'll need. I'll leave that up to you.

Yes, I remember where you live, for me to get there before 8 I'll have to leave the house about 7. Want me to bring something for breakfast? coffee or tea? I can bring a good sized carafe of English Breakfast if you're in the mood.

Geeked? *g* You have *NO* idea - I first posted about this demo back in August, when they notified me of the date. NO ONE at all commented on it, and I've been begging and pleading on all my e-mail lists for warm bodies to keep me company. If I had thought you'd want to weave, I'd have already hit you up....*g*

OK, table runner. That'll be in 8/2 cotton (this is more me thinking aloud here..) I have royal purple and bright emerald. I might have a darker green, but I have to look and see. I'm thinking mostly green, with purple stripes along the edges, maybe 1 in the middle - I've got plans for some of that purple, so I can't/don't want to use all of it. (I need a handwoven shirt, and I have some variegated cotton that uses the same purple...it'll be smashing!) *g* Let me double check that I have enough green for that - I've used it for dishtowels. *eg*

You'll need the boat shuttle for that....and it'll definately be an all-day project. How long (yardage-wise) do you want it to end up? And how wide? The loom will weave 15.75", with draw-in and shrinkage you'll be able to get - max - 15"; I'd bet closer to 14.75".

If I don't have enough green (and there's not enough time to order any, more's the pity) I'll warp up a nice long scarf. Think about it, and tell me if you want the weft the same color, or contrasting - I think I know where some un-dyed Fisherman's wool is; if not, I need to go to Michael's anyway. If they don't have *that*, I'll pick up a different type of natural wool. How wide for a scarf? (A scarf I can warp up later, if you want to take your time to contemplate it. A scarf takes...maybe 30 minutes to wind, and another 30 to warp. A table runner takes...much longer - more threads to count and thread. I love playing with yarn, so it's no biggie to me - I'm the one that put a 20 yard dishtowel warp, @ 22" wide, at 20 threads per inch (that's 440 threads, each 20 yards long!) on the loom FOR FUN. I'm still weaving the blasted thing off! *eg*

Ian tells me he'll let me clear off that loom on Saturday, so I can start the table runner then, or I can wait and warp up a scarf during the week.

I won't need breakfast, but I never turn down a good English Breakfast tea! I'll be bringing my lunch (since I'm still low-carbing) and can add whatever you want to munch on. They do provide sandwiches and cookies (or they did last year) and drinks (colas and iced tea).

pish, you should've hit me up. you KNOW I've been on the hunt for more weaving time!

I have royal purple and bright emerald. /snip/ I've got plans for some of that purple, so I can't/don't want to use all of it.

Ohh no no no!!! no don't use up the last of your purple and green for this! I can use whatever colors you've got - I'm not picky at all, even if it's obnoxiously loud. We can talk more at Bedford about this, 'kay?

Thanks for the heads up on munchies and lunch. I probably will bring something to toss into the cooler. do you like your tea High Octane (sweet) or not?

Low Octane - I have switched to Splenda for the diet and it's working pretty well.

Don't worry - it won't be ALL my yarns...*snicker* I have lots, I just can't remember which colors I have. The purple yarn is a completely brand new 1 pound cone, still shrink-wrapped. I've got more than enough for what I'm planning...once I decide on the stripe pattern/sequence/do I want green pinstripes or not/etc. *That's* why it hasn't been woven yet - I can't make up my mind!

I'll drag out the yarns this week and come up with something suitably nice for you to play with. I'll also pull out my Pattern book and see what pattern I can come up with that uses a simple twill treadling. *g*

there's a place locally that's called Yarn Heaven... not 100% sure what their stock is like, but I can call on them this weekend and ask if they've got cotton yarn to work with, or any other kind. I'm going right by there Sat. Afternoon, it'll be nothing to stop in and have me a looksee - just tell me specifically what you'd be looking for.

allllll righty then! Low Octane Breakfast Tea, noted. Munchies... I'm thinking sage sausage balls for nibbles, noted. lunch, noted.
