Yes, they are perfect for ogling! *g*

Nope - I'm not an extension agent; I've just been into fiber since 1996. I tend to go overboard when I get into something - at one point I spent hours on the phone tracking down everyone that had anything to do with weaving or spinning in our area. I'll ask my MIL what all's out in the Ft Worth area - I haven't spent a whole lot of quality fiber-time out there. Yet.

The closest to you would probably be Heritage Arts. I haven't been there in - oh, 3 or so years, but it's a nice little shop that really caters to spinners and weavers. The prices (back then, anyway) were pretty good - I think it was $10 for 4 oz of handpainted wool roving - and they *are* knowledgable, if a little (ok, a LOT) opinionated.

I mean - *I* think my AA's are the best wheels out there, but I also understand that some folks can't afford them or don't want to spend the big bucks, and that's cool. I'm not going to bad mouth your Babe wheel, or your Schacht, or your dinky-dorum wheel - if it makes yarn, then it's a good wheel. (Mine are, however, better *g*)

As for the wool - shhhhhhhhhhh! That's part of my plan. Send it off to Wooly Knob or Stonehedge for washing and processing, then......sharing the joy. Dyeing up some, and sharing *that*, too. *g*
