Oooh. Got a link?
Hollis is an easy drive from here -- About 65 miles or so. Not quite as far as I go to go shooting so it's definitely in the No Problemo category.
I have no clue how to pack a wheel for shipping. Disassemble, put small parts in baggie and tie/tape to treadle or something, wrap in bubble wrap, put in box, tape firmly, mark "Fragile" and give to UPS?
Here's the listing: Flax Wheel
You've got the basic idea - just make sure the flyer array/MOA is well protected, the rest pad with bubble wrap/foam peanuts (or "ghost turds" as we call 'em here) and let UPS take it. But...no "FRAGILE". They tend to toss it around that way. Insure it for...at least $1K. They don't wanna pay the insurance if they break it. *eg*
Ooooh it's pretty. And definitely insurable as a valuable antique for at least $1K.
Just as well that (a) I don't have room for a 3rd wheel and (b) you're a friend of mine or I'd put in a bid on it.
I'm hoping noone else notices it - this is the 3rd time she's listed it, and it's not in Spinning, it's in Antique Furniture. Fingers are crossed...
And, don't you mean 4th wheel? I mean, you haven't actually *ordered* your AA yet, but you're thinking about it.....:whistles innocently:
I'll let you (and everyone else) know if/when I get it. Then we can work out logistics/payment/etc.
OK! I hope you get it, it's a pretty wheel.
No I haven't sent in my order for an AA, my walking speed and treadling speed have only just stabilised at their new post-op and therapy state. At least I think they've stabilised...
