Wednesday Wanderings......

Let's see....the barn got cleaned this AM before school. Only took the kids 1 hour - and that includes all the griping and complaining. :snicker: *I* was going to help, but Herself opened her big mouth to say that SG was *lazy*, and it wasn't fair that they had to do something just because of that. Ummm......NOPE. I promptly declared myself "lazy" and made HER do all the wheelbarrow hauling. :grumble:

Started acquiring Hannukah prezzies......I already have the color e-readers; today we nabbed 2 iPod shuffles (LOVE eBay. LOVE it!). That way, *I* don't have to listen to their music choices (Himself just found - and downloaded - the Portal 2 soundtrack. :sigh:) We're looking at getting new bikes for them, too....that'll be 3 gifts down, 5 to go! (The remaining ones will be smaller - MUCH smaller. Like, origami paper, books, that sort of thing.)

Yesterday I got the rest of the fabric cut for the quilt. ALL the blocks are in their own ziplocks; now I just need to turn the squares into triangles and start piecing. Fun stuff......

I don't get the calendars - Sukkot is supposed to start ON the Full Moon. My widget says that the full moon is in 6 days.......which means that YK, which is 5 days BEFORE Sukkot, has to start tomorrow, right?

Well, my Jewish widget says that YK begins Friday evening. My calendar (printed off from a Jewish site) says that YK begins tomorrow evening. According to the moon, it needs to begin THIS evening. :grrrrrr: (According to when we celebrated RH, it HAS to begin this evening, as well). We're keeping it tomorrow.........:sigh: So, radio silence here...and no school or work, either. Critters have to be tended, but that's it on the "work" front. I won't be quilting or knitting, either, just because. :nods:

Speaking of, I need to get some work done. Laters!

I have GOT to stop!

I decided to find someone I could pay to print out the Torah Class books - the Teacher's Guide is 165 pages, and the Student edition is 352, and my li'l ol inkjet would go on strike if I tried to print them out here. The "local" office supply store (1 town over) was the cheapest - $0.06/page - so I emailed the Teacher's editon, but the Student one was too large, so we took it to them.

While we waited, we decided to walk around the downtown area....where there is a cheesy used book store. They don't have a *lot* of books, relatively speaking, but....well, they have even less now. :giggle:

I found 2 quilting books, 3 sci-fi/fantasy for Herself, and 4 homeschooling books - 1 of which is the DK "Encyclopedia of History" that normally sold for $49.99. I got it for a measly $8. :happy dance:

I HAVE to quit visiting book stores, I really do. I don't need any more books - but this one is a GREAT supplement to our History text. Photos and a timeline....and it's the one that is recommended in "The Well-Trained Mind" - how could I leave it to a horrid fate?

I gotta go start punching holes - I have 1 Teacher's Edition and 2 Student Editions to get spiral-ized. (And all 3 only cost me $50, with tax. Not bad for what I got!)
