See, last night was choir practise. We're a small church, and we only have practise on the 1st Wednesday of the month. Maybe 6 of us show up for any given practise - there are..ummmm....15 in the choir. I think. Anyway...
So, I haul myself and the 2 spawn up there. Himself amuses himself by pitter-pattering up and down the aisle, and crawling under the pews. He finally settled down and "read" Herself's Dr. Seuss book The Lorax.
Herself decided she wants to join the choir. She has a good voice - especially for a 7.5 year old - so it's cool. When she knows the song, she belts it out...loudly. And mostly on-key. Sometimes the same key as we're singing it in!
So, it was decided she and I need to do a duet. On the last Sunday of Feb. In church. In front of people. She's in Heaven. I'm terrified.
See, I don't Do public performances. Hate 'em. This...this is going to be interesting. 60 members on any given Sunday. I might be able to convince myself it's not public. Maybe.
At least it's only 1 verse. The full choir will sing the 1st and 3rd, so we're only on the spot for the middle verse. Hopefully, Herself will be confident enough to belt it on out, and I can just be "for support".
I'm off to shoot myself with chocolate...
