Hug a Soldier today!

Have you considered a therapist in addition to the psychiatrist? Again--just a suggestion. Parenting is hard and complicated even at the best of times, I know.
Yes - I take both kids to a psychologist 2x/month. Himself doesn't mind - he'll chatter about Robots/Space to *anybody*; he needs his self-esteem boosted because of all the bullying at public school.
Herself "I don't talk about personal stuff!" is a bit tougher. Right now we're doing "family therapy", just to get her to talk.
While I like the psychologist, I think we could do better - IF we lived in a more populous area, and had a choice. We don't, though - the only other child psychologist is a nutcase; she's into hypnotism, new-age-y type stuff that just rubs me the wrong way (and is the one that claimed that all of Himself's problems were because of Herself; Herself needed to be committed. WITHOUT even *seeing* Herself, to boot!)
Yeah, that's rough. I hope you get to a place where everyone is reasonably happy and content.
