We're Back!

It's slow, but we have internet again. :whew: It came back sometime yesterday - but I was too tired to do anything. (Work, don'cha know). I have to go *back* in today, because....Cynthia's mom passed away early Sunday, and, needless to say, she won't be in this week. (Much to the chagrin of Ms. boss. :sigh:)

I have done NOTHING on the quilt - we spent Saturday running around, and then Sunday we went to Fry's, where my darling husband bought me a new printer. (I had.....ummm....kinda killed the Epson. Inadvertently. I had been buying generic ink, and it was working, but I was still spending more than I wanted - it was a photo-printer, and ATE ink. Last week, I went thru an entire set in 4 days. :sigh: Anyway, I had purchased some refillable cartridges and ink for it....I put them in, and could get 2 pages before the whole thing locked up. Repeatedly. :sigh:)

*I* wanted a laser printer - I know the toner is pricey, but the cartridges last a long time, and I could buy 1 or 2 a month and work up a stash. I *needed* a printer that would duplex (print 2-sided), and needed color. I also wanted a scanner, and NEEDED a copier. SG wanted wireless, so he could print off his iPad. Fry's has a huge selection, and good prices, so we headed there.....and ended up - after a good hour of negotiations - with a HP Officejet 6500A Plus. NOT laser - but it has everything else *I* wanted, it's wireless, and the ink is HALF the price of the Epson.

And it was UNDER $150. It's an all-in-one machine, so it prints, copies, scans, and faxes. It duplexes, and the print is crisp and clear, AND the ink doesn't run like the Epson's does.

The only drawback - it's SLOW. Takes a good minute to process the job (probably because it's wireless) and duplex printing takes FOREVER. But - it works. I can live with slow-ish printing, since 2-sided saves paper.

Gotta run and milk, then I gotta head back in to the office. Mom is coming over to kid-watch (I just can't leave them 2 days in a row; Herself can't handle that. :sigh:)
